Marvel Studios started its journey in the year 2008 with the release of the infamous “ Iron Man “ followed by “ Iron Man 2 “ starring Our beloved Robert Downey Jr as the main hero – Tony Stark. Over the years, Marvel Studios has fed its fans with incredible movies featuring all 6 original Avengers and many more along the way, but the character Tony Stark is etched with our hearts especially because of Downey and how he masterfully handled the character. In 2019 however, we said goodbye to our beloved Iron Man with a heavy heart at the end of Avengers End Game.
We almost lost any expectations of encountering Downey in the Marvel Universe again. However, 5 years later, now at San Diego Comic-Con 2024, Marvel’s Panel made the big announcement revealing Robert Downey Jr in their next movie but not as a hero, this time as a villain, one of the most dangerous villains of MCU – Doctor Doom. The announcement was made with Downey being on the stage in a mask
and green suit among several others dressing in the same. He walks up to the stage, removing his mask and standing in his signature posture from Iron Man, saying “ New Mask, Same Task “. Marvel will feature Doctor Doom in their upcoming movie “Avengers: Doomsday” which was originally titled “ Avengers: The Kang Dynasty” and will be followed later on with another movie “ Avengers: The Secret Wars” set to release in 2027.
With this heavy announcement, audiences are ecstatic, and fans are expressing how hard the wait will be. Nevertheless, we’re thrilled to take a ride on this upcoming journey and experience the thrill of another Avengers movie.
