A blast from the past is about to begin! After an incredible 27 years apart, legendary actors Kajol and Prabhu Deva will reunite on film, a gift for fans of Bollywood. “Maharagni – Queen of Queens,” a pan-Indian film helmed by Telugu director Charan Tej Uppalapati, will include the two actors.
For the performers who last worked together on the 1997 Tamil film “Minsara Kanavu” (known as “Sapnay” in Hindi), this is a much-awaited reunion. Audiences were enthralled by the romantic musical and left wanting more from the on-screen couple.
With an intense action drama in place of the romance of their previous film, “Maharagni” seems to be a high-octane affair. Although the plot’s specifics are still unknown, the recently published teaser suggests that Kajol will play a significant part. A strong supporting cast, including seasoned actor Naseeruddin Shah, is also featured in the movie.
Regarding the reunion, director Uppalapati conveyed his enthusiasm for uniting these two renowned actors. “It’s probably a well-known fact that every Telugu person loves the old Minsara Kanavu song ‘Vennela Vennela,'” he remarked, addressing the song’s continuing appeal. “This is a dream come true for many fans, myself included. The director also hinted at the potential for a unique dance routine to further heighten the anticipation for Kajol and Shah’s partnership. Supporters are awaiting additional information about this much-anticipated initiative.
Filming for “Maharagni” has already begun, and it will be released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam, making it a genuinely pan-Indian film festival. The anticipation of fans for the film’s release is bound to increase when they realize that Kajol and Prabhu Deva could rekindle their on-screen chemistry after almost thirty years apart.
