Netflix releases the official teaser of its upcoming project starring Naseeruddin Shah and Vijay Verma in the lead roles. “IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack” unveils the real-life incident and shares the gruesome experience of the passengers trapped in the sky with the government being helpless in the situation. Vijay Verma plays the role of the pilot as revealed in the teaser.
The six-episode series is based on the true incident of India Airlines Flight 814, which took off on December 24th, 1999, from Kathmandu on its way towards Delhi; however, minutes after the plane took off, it was hijacked and captured almost 180 passengers. The plane was flown to several locations before it finally landed in Kandahar, Afghanistan.
The upcoming series will be released on August 29th and challenges to unveil the historic event in the form of cinematic excellence.
