A grand mythological epic brought to life by brilliant animation, sfx and characterization. It provides a fresh viewpoint of an iconic story of Prahlad (Hiranyakashipu’s son) and how Lord Vishnu incarnated as Narasimha win over the Asur king Hiranyakashipu. Ashwin Kumar, the director, is focused on bringing Indian mythology to the forefront for children and modern audiences, rekindling the stories through the animated film format that appeals to the children as well.
I was moved by the amount of emotion that was integrated throughout the film. Visually, the animation and godly imagery as well as the spectacular animation was combined to create a very complete viewing experience. Prahlad’s devotion, the story’s striking spiritual moments, as well heart warming moments of gentle innocence, blended beautifully and merged well with myths of spirituality.
Despite having limited promotions, this movie hit the box office after its release proving that people want more culturally-rooted content.
This movie is a must watch for mythology lovers and people who are fascinated by storytelling through animation.
