The character Song Gi-hun, played by Lee Jung-Jae, the show’s main protagonist, comes back for the upcoming season with a hunger to unravel the mysterious world behind the game, where the thread of life and death is hanging.
The initial season portrayed a game that offers an unusual amount of money to people who are struggling financially. While pretending to be an escape where one can win a large sum. The game is intended to create a form of entertainment for some shady and dark underworld people, making the poor participants wrestle for their lives as the makers enjoy it.
