Vijay Sethupathi has finally reached a significant milestone in his career with the release of his 50th film, “Maharaja.” The actor completes his 50th movie with such cinematic excellence that it has left the audiences spellbound. The unique approach to the plot screams cinematic beauty and sheer excellence, followed by the performance of the actors, which makes the movie worthy enough to give goosebumps.
Directed by Nithilan Swaminathan, this movie follows an intriguing plot centering around a barber, played by Sethupathi, who one day restlessly comes to the police station to launch a report regarding a burglary in his house. However, his claims of a stolen “Lakshmi” leaves the police baffled. The mystery arises when police try to search for this particular “Lakshmi” although it is unclear if it’s a person or something else in question. This sets the stage with suspense as the police grapple with the barber’s true intentions.
The stellar cast alongside Sethupathi provides the movie with a masterful handling of work and excellence. Many incredible faces were witnessed during the movie – Film Director Anurag Kashyap made a special appearance while the other cast added much more depth to the story.
Audiences are satisfied and the movie is well received with positive comments, marking Sethupathi as the central attraction of the movie and a master of his art. Previously we encountered him in Shahrukh Khan’s “Jawan,” where he was very much responsible for the massive success of the film, as no one could have imagined a better antagonist alongside Khan to create the masterpiece. But this time Sethupathi outdid himself. Some comments say that “ He is a man with no haters,” while others say “Sethupathi is the only right choice for such an unconventional story.” Commercially, “Maharaja” has shattered records by holding the title of the fastest worldwide grosser for a Tamil film in 2024.
The movie has successfully passed the first phase of critic judgement and box office success, which rather invites more and more audiences to at least witness such Cinematic art once.
